Can you create a small, intimate setting at your venue? Yes, the grounds here at Sweet Maple Farms accommodate a variety of settings to make your dream wedding a reality. You will have many options for an outdoor wedding. The rustic barn preforms well for either the ceremony or reception. Some packages allow for overnight camping to bring your family and friends together in one place. The 4 day weekend makes your decorating, rehearsal, wedding day and cleanup realistic without added stress.
Are we able to hire our own vendors? Yes. All vendors must be selected, arranged, and reserved by the wedding party.
Are pets allowed on the site or during the ceremony? Yes, your fur babies are allowed. Additional information is available.
Is there parking for guests on site? Yes, there is parking on site. The Island Resort & Casino shuttle service is available too.
What are the electricity capabilities? Electricity is provided inside and outside in designated areas.
Can we have alcohol? Yes, alcohol is allowed. Your Certificate of Liability insurance must cover "Host Liquor Liability". It is up to you to use discretion for your quest, as you know your crowd best. A friendly reminder that your bartender has the right to cut off guests as they see needed. Prepare for a safe, friendly and fun wedding night.
Am I required to carry insurance? Yes. A "Certificate of Insurance" is required, along with the "host liquor liability" coverage.
Is there public transportation to the venue? No public transportation. Party buses or other rental transportation are needed for guests.
How many people does your barn hold for a wedding or reception? The barn floor is 50' x 72'. It will comfortably seat 200 chairs for a ceremony or 120-150 people for a reception. The outside grounds can be set up beautifully with tents added to the barn for larger receptions. The maximum we have accommodated is 486 people.
How many days can we reserve for our wedding? The venue is reserved exclusively for your special day from Thur. 9 AM - Sun 12 PM EST Special For Tuesday Weddings, are from Monday 12 PM - Wed 12 PM EST
Is there a kitchen on site? Yes. There is a holding area with water, sink, warming oven, and 2 refrigerators. This kitchen is not a preparation kitchen; there is no stove. Chaffing pans & warmers are needed.
How many restrooms are there? There are 2 handicap accessible restrooms on site. Portable rental units are recommended for larger crowds.
What months is the venue available? May -Feb. The barn is heated and available for winter events. Venue closure in March and April for maple syrup production.
What services do you offer? We rent the barn and grounds for 4-day package. Rate includes table, chairs, and select decorations. No other professional services are included in the venue rental.
Where are the closest accommodations? We offer 2 Airbnb units 10 miles away in Bark River, MI. The Island Resort & Casino, in Bark River, MI offers hotel accommodations.
Is overnight camping allowed? Yes, there is dry dock camping only. No sewer, electricity, or water is available. Please limit your camping to immediate family and wedding parties. Limited sites are available for the 4-day package.
