Can you create a small, intimate setting at your venue? Yes, the grounds here at Sweet Maple Farms accommodate a variety of settings to make your dream wedding a reality. You will have many options for an outdoor wedding. The rustic barn preforms well for either the ceremony or reception. Some packages allow for overnight camping to bring your family and friends together in one place. The 4 day weekend makes your decorating, rehearsal, wedding day and cleanup realistic without added stress.
Are we able to hire our own vendors? Yes. All vendors will need to be selected, arranged and reserved by the wedding party.
Are pets allowed on the site or during the ceremony? Yes, your fur babies are allowed. Additional information available.
Is there parking for guests on site? Yes, up to 120 cars. Island Resort & Casino shuttle service available.
How many restrooms are there? There are 2 handicap accessible restrooms on site. Portable unit rentals necessary for larger crowds.
What are the electricity capabilities? Electricity is provided inside and outside in designated areas.
Am I required to carry insurance? Yes. A "Certificate of Liability" coverage is required.
Is there public transportation to the venue? No. Party buses or other rental transportation is needed for guests.
What is the rental fee and deposit? 2026 Weekend Packages = $2900 2025-26 Tuesday Packages = $1900 2027 Weekend Packages = $3200 2027 Tuesday Packages = $2000 $500 refundable security deposit.
How many people does your barn hold for a wedding or reception? The reception floor is 50' x 72'. It will comfortably seat 200 chairs for a ceremony or 200 people for a reception. A tent added will extend the barn even further to allow more room for the dance floor, bar area, buffet lines, and additional seating. Max. we have accommodated is 486. Large weddings, 250+ have to be pre-approved. The outside grounds are beautifully set up for ceremonies and receptions.
How many days can we reserve for our wedding? The venue is reserved exclusively for your special day from Thur. 9 AM - Sun 12 PM EST Special For Tuesday Weddings, is Sun 3 PM EST - Wed 3 PM EST
Is there a kitchen on site? Yes. There is a holding area with water, sink, warming oven, fridge and freezer room for ice storage. This kitchen is not a preparation kitchen; there is no stove. Chaffing pans & warmers are needed.
How many restrooms are there? There are 2 handicap accessible restrooms on site. Portable unit rentals necessary for larger crowds.
What months is the venue available? May 15th - March 1st. Barn is heated and available for winter events. Venue closure due to maple syrup producton in the spring.
What services do you offer? Rent the barn and grounds for 4-day package. Rate includes table, chairs, and a few decorations.
Where are the closest accommodations? We offer 2 Airbnb units 10 miles away in Bark River, MI. The Island Resort & Casino in Bark River, MI offers hotel accommodations for larger parties.
Can we have alcohol? Yes, and we do not require a licensed bartender. Your Certificate of Liability insurance has to cover "Host Liquor Liability". It is up to you to use discretion for your quest as you know your crowd best. A friendly reminder that your bartender has the right to cut off guests as they see needed. Prepare for a safe, friendly and fun wedding night.
Is overnight camping allowed? Yes, there is dry dock camping only. No sewer, electricity, or water is available. One site has full hook-ups. Please limit your camping to immediate family and wedding parties. Sites are available for the 4-day package.
